    • As everyone is spending more time at home it is time that we think about some additional and affordable ways to restore the sparkle to our yards that we once had. Cleaning and sealing all your hardscape is a process that will prevent erosion of stonescapes, efflorescence (white chalking on top of concrete/stone/Pavers), weatherproofs and protects virtually all porous Surfaces, removes stains, prevents water and stain penetration while restoring your concrete or stone back to like new condition.

There is a wide variety of sealers and stone enhancers on the market which can give a wide spectrum of finished looks varying from a clean flat look to a wet shine. Most sealers only need to be re applied every few years, but beware that some super high gloss sealers can be a bit more expensive and in some cases need to be reapplied every 6 months to maintain luster.

It is necessary before sealing anything that a thorough cleaning and pressure washing is completed with proper cleaning agents to remove existing sealer, oils, marks and various stains. This cleaning will neutralize the surface and remove mineral deposits. After area is cleaned and dry, a sealer can be carefully applied. It is best practice to test sealer choices in an inconspicuous area in order to decide which finish you like best. With stone there are specially made enhancers that will impregnate the stone and bring out the natural color. After choosing the correct sealer it is important to work fast and efficiently in order to effectively cover all areas. Special care should be taken to properly apply sealer using a combinations of tools including Sprayers, Paint brushes, rollers and other special tools to ensure even application. Concrete, stone, and pavers should all be sealed separately using the best product for their surface. Allow sealer to dry and then retouch porous areas that need additional sealer. This process will ensure that your investment will looks better, lasts longer and maintains your curb appeal all year long.
